So proud I bought UAD products. I remember some years back a friend gave me UAD pcie accelerator with some plugs so I could try it for couple of days! my first impression when comparing for example pultec with similar products , some having weird names ,was I could spot the differences but as an electrical engineer was convincing myself it is all modeling and how could someone model better ,and telling myself it's placebo effect.Time passed I followed my masters in EE where we had to deal with similar subjects such as modeling ,signal processing and many other cool stuffs . I bought Apollo with an accelerator and some awesome plugins. Now I can spot the differences between UAD plugins and other manufacturers right away doing blind test. And one thing I can tell you is that they know what they are doing and they do that with a degree of excellence. Everyone knows basics but UAD knows the details and they pay attention to those details and final product is what that shines when you compare it to similar product. Uad is a combination of technology and all the exprerience they acquired during years. And finally SHARK handles some stuffs really cool !

The Studer A800 is Great for any Home Studio or Big Studios . UAD Digital Plugins are 95 to 100 % as Great as the Analog Hardware. Im new in the Recording Business but I've researched all Brands and UAD Rules .

Sounds Great!

This Moog emulation sounds fantastic! Do I wish it would also work in another DAW? Yes, but I'm fine with using it in Luna.

After watching Tchad Blake using the Studio A800, I had to try it. My favorite Tape Plugin at the moment!

Sounds Great on Master Bus!

Let me preface this by saying I'm a songwriter that needs to create reasonable work tapes for my publisher to review prior to an official demo recording. I am not an engineer and prefer easy to use plugins with great presets to get the sound I need. i.e. live recording either guitar or keyboard with vocals, presets to get the sound I'm after without too much tweaking, then a quick master with BX Masterdesk Classic. I do own quite a few UA plugins but only write a glowing review about a few of them...this is one...

All my simple mixes get a touch of this. Really nice analog sound to the mix.

WOW. All these people whining about how this extension is exclusively for LUNA. Print down your mixed STEMS, import them from your DAW into the FREE Luna software and take advantage of this INCREDIBLE extension. It's hard to put into words how amazing this extension is and what it does to your mix. It brings it to life, adds richness and widening, presence, and more. Do yourself a favor and drop the $300 on this extension. It will be one of the best decisions you'll ever make!

since its recent update to version 1.02 my attitude towards RAVEL has dramaticly changed, where now only ambrasing words come to my mind: "nothing compares ... nothing compares to you".

if it was a real mix desk, ( or mix control board ), it would need input level sections also..
but that would be it...just Input Section, Freq Duck Section, and Fader Section..
Then Your Mixing, not jerking around with your sources...

if you design LUNA's mixing desk section like that like that, i can guarantee you would have people saying " I want a real mix desk like this !!! "

i mean this would be absolutely revolutionary, ( see Attention Please part one )..
if the channel strips where boiled down to just Frequency Side-Chain Ducking Sections, ( with sidechain solo, mute, and pre/post ) + Standard Fader Sections = a good mix engineer, that understood how to creatively manipulate the settings, could pull off mixes better than they ever imagined possible, in a fraction of the time..

the Digital Frequency Ducking Compressor idea i had is something that should go into mixing desk channels...
when i think about the way it would revolutionize mixing, a channel's EQ section is actually less important...
the Ducking Side-Chain Routing Matrix would be trouble free, because the effect is isolated, whatever the case...
Three Side-Chain Knobs..Freq, Q, and Level...the Filtered Side-Chain Signal is Simply Subtracted From that Channels Program Material...Wha-Lah !!!!

Only for LUNA...

UAD could have easily made this a plug in that works with other DAWs. I own almost every UAD plug in there is and they all work with any DAW...I will say this, I use the Neve MBP hardware for 2 Buss summing most often but prefer the Brainworks Masterdeck at times...

With the launch of Luna the A800 was always going to be a welcome addition at some point after resisting It’s pull for some time now and now the magic becomes even more apparent than ever when added to each track. Yes Oxide is silk but, oh yes Studer goes the extra yard to give that gloss finish

Once it's understood it's FIRE

It took me a while to get to know this one, but once I did it seriously rocks! Its prob not your cup of tea if you want instant gratification as today's world demands, I love it because it not perfect its little untamed, but is really unique and I love the texture it gives, I use it on just about everything!

Any instrument you build should be available for ALL DAWs

Qualitywise this should get a 4 or 5 star-rating. Don't get me wrong, but it is not understandable that you build the spitfire and ravel & mood exclusively for LUNA. Not that LUNA isn't great and it's free - i get all that, but still Why take another route with the instruments than with your plugins? You wouldn't think about making your gear emulation plugins exclusive to your own DAW would you? I hope not, because then it would be bye bye UAD...
