Easy to install, lots of power
The card was recognised as soon as I installed it and it gives me a plenty of muscle so I don't run out of processing power when using the UAD plugins. I was having issues of stability with my firewire satellite Duo, but since installing this quad card along with an Apollo x8, my system is rock solid. Good stuff!

PCI-e Quad card in Lenovo PC
Just wanted to say that my PCI-e card has been working fine for years. It is a quad card and I have one of the original Apollo silver (firewire) units that is also quad. The quad card has been sitting in a 2nd generation i7 gaming desktop by Lenovo. I'm getting ready to move over to Thunderbolt 3, and a Lenovo gaming laptop (Y740) that another UA user has verified worked with his Apollo etc. I will need to get a thunderbolt 3 chassis for the card, but other than that it should all be good. I chose that gaming laptop due to 1) Thunderbolt 3 port, 2) two hard drives, 3) generation 9 i7 chip, 4) 17" screen so I can read the tracks, easily expandable ram etc.

The plug-ins sound great! Best I've heard so far.
The downside is there is no balance to disk feature, it almost was a dealbreaker thought about returning the system.
I added it to my ProTools HDX computer the sound is great, but it brings me back to one I was mixing on my old NEVE..
Why can't you guys figure out some way to speed up the balance to disk.
It really crunches the workflow, ProTools can bounce at 22 times real time.
This is great to audition and send things back and forth so clients can approve things. I can't use the system to do that everything has to be balanced at a little bit more than real time.
In my opinion this is terrible

Nothing but good things to say about these cards and the UAD plugins. The plugins are way beyond any others in terms of quality and functionality in a mix. The PCIe cards are Incredibly reliable! I’ve had one running for over ten years and just purchased a used duo card to compliment this existing card. Backwards compatibility is also impressive for these cards! I’m still running an old Pro Tools HD system on a power PC Mac G5 and can still purchase UAD plugins and can still download the needed software to run on this system. I don’t know of ANY other software manufacturer that can make that claim. Best thing is if I want to upgrade to a newer system it’s a simple card swap and I don’t have to pay a bunch of money just to run the same plugins on a newer version of software (I won’t name names, but you all know exactly who I’m talking about). Currently running a duo and a solo UAD-2 in my system and it runs flawlessly. Keep up the amazing work UA!

UAD-2 cards
I have two UAD-2 Quad cards and a Solo card running on my PC. Installation was easy as pie, and after registering, updating from the website couldn't be easier. Once installed you can forget they are there. Highly recommended.

MISSING AUTHIRIZE
GOOD DAY, I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH MY UAD 2 8CORE PCIe AND THE QUALITY OF THE PLUG-INS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT HAVING PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED MY PLUG-INS WITHOUT EVER REGISTERED MY UAD AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION I HAVE LOST ALL THE LICENSES I PURCHASED OVER THE COURSE OF A FEW YEARS, I HAVE COMMUNICATED MY PROBLEM TO UAD SUPPORT, HOPING THAT THEY WILL SOLVE MY PROBLEM PROBLEM. THANK YOU...

UAD-2 PCIe Card
By buying a second (used) UAD-2 PCIe card, I have twice as many resources available for the fantastic UAD plugins.
Installation and registration was straightforward.
I am very happy with it!

Quad & octo pci issues with modern pc's
My UAD2 PCI quad is running for years, time to add an OCTO to increase my UAD plugin usage. Take to PCI, it faster they said. The old QUAD had pci issues and required a custom build PC for usage for newer I9 CPUs. I used the pc and OCTO card for 6 months before the octo failed (all led red), my replacement card showed the same issues within 1 week. Due to large luna support requests, I'm now one month out of business. I wished they advise me the USB edition instead of this unreliable PCI problem. With 72 plugins is not easy to rebuild project with a native alternative. I hope to move to UAD USB asap.

UAD 2 Octo
I ran out of DSP with my Apollo X8p, I was getting around 25 plug-ins in Cubase so I needed more horse power - so I added this Octo card...so glad I did, I have so much spare DSP now I need not keep my eye on the UAD meter.Highly recommended

Different World. UAD 2 Octo is a game changer
I think everyone goes through the Solo or Duo stage of the Universal Audio experience. Everyone has gone through the "That sounds amazing experience" adding a plugin only to run our of DSP power very quickly. I remember after I got my Apollo I was going to get a quad and changed my mind to an OCTO. It was definitely the right decision because it has transformed the sound quality of my mixes. It is awesome to have a A800 Studer on and 88R Neve Channel Strip every audio channel. I compared my recent work to older mixes and the improvement is very impressive. Some people say it's too expensive but in my opinion we now have access to high end profession quality sound production at a fraction of the cost. If you are on the fence I would 100% recommend the UAD 2 Octo if you are serious about what you are doing.
