In developing the UAD plug‑in version of this landmark processor, AMS founder Mark Crabtree dusted off his original schematics and extensive notes. It was a laborious two‑year process, but well worth the effort. The end result is a UAD plug‑in that contains exact instruction‑for‑instruction models of the original algorithms — giving you iconic reverb sounds in your DAW.
New Custom Programs
In the ’80s, if you were fortunate enough to have AMS's exclusive aftermarket bar code reader system, you could load nine additional programs into a stock RMX16, including 810 ms of delay, brighter rooms, and variations of the legendary RMX16 Nonlin, Reverse and Plate reverbs. The new AMS RMX16 Expanded Digital Reverb plug-in gives you all of these ultra‑rare programs of a fully customized unit.
Simple Sonics
Designed to be musical rather than mathematical (Peter Gabriel owned a prototype unit and delivered notes), the original RMX16 was tuned and re-tuned by ear to provide as wide a "sweet-spot" of settings as possible. Nice reverb with lot of character. You instantly get that 80s/ 90s sound, specially with the non linear presets. Unfortunately the GUI is too small, some plugins need to be updated....

Absolute Magic! Criminally Underrated!
It just has THAT sound. You wont know until you hear it yourself that this thing is behind so many legendary records of the 70's and 80s etc. I can't help but grin like a baby when I play with this reverb.

The RMX16 is one of the most underrated UA reverbs, likely because the price is a bit higher than some of the others. Is it worth the extra money? Probably not. It's a niche sound. But, when you need that sound, nothing else will do. I love this reverb, and consistently, it fits into that right spot where nothing else works!

Incredible sound! I was lucky enough to work in a studio with this reverb and I can assure you that it sounds just like the real thing. It goes well with anything but particularly vocals and drums, in my very humble opinion.

I had to pop on this one cause it had that retro verb sound we all love so much...at least those of us who love the analog records hayday of the 80's etc. forget the music, I just love the way those records sound sonically, and this unit was part of that.
