Neve 1081 was exactly what I needed for versatile EQ
The Neve 1081 was exactly what I needed. I own the 1073 and 1084. The 1073 and 1084 are 3 band DSP hogs and the 1073 only has one choice for the high end. The 1081 is much more versatile with its 4 bands and variable Q while using a lot less DSP. This is now one of my favorite Go-To Plug-in EQ's along with the API-550A and Pultecs. Thanks UAD.

New life for some old tracks!
I have been mixing some old tracks lately. This Neve Preamp along with Studer A800 really brought the big studio sound to tracks I recorded years ago on Mackie 8 bus console! Really fantastic!

My favourite EQ after long use of Harrison C32
The main "trigger" to buy 1081 was Waves VEQ 4 who is allegedly shaped after 1081. I use it on vocals becaude it has that sweet hi mids and top end - very smooth and creamy.

I'm still finding my way with these compressors, but 33609 smokes the API 2500 plugin IMO. The 2254e is perfect for adding that thump to mixes.

This is one of the cheapest and best UAD plugins I have. It just adds colour and life, particularly on vocals. I like it. You should buy it.

How to punch a mockinbird
These units really know pull your audio over the line. The way it grabs onto the low end it magnificent and it's really what I came to expect after having owned a 33609 myself (albeit a J discrete version). It's a colouring unit that can sometimes smother your material if you're not careful, so it's not plug and play on everything. That's a telltale sign of a good plugin!

I use it on everything
The 610b is excellent for many things, but this neve pre is a beast. I’ve pretty much used it on every track along with the studer tape recorder. Warmth and tone for days.

Hello,
I really like the fact that the Neve is being advertised as a natural sounding plugin and for years I have thought Neve had some great EQ's. If you have some time to turn the dials it sounds great! I just wish there were more presets. I don't think I'm very good at hearing frequencies to take out in a mix.

Different texture than the Neve 1073, got to have them both!
I already owned the Neve 1073 and thought that I didn’t need it’s bigger brother. After demoing the 1084 extensively, I decided that the texture and response was different enough. Both carry that famous Neve sound, but sometimes the 1073 is the right tool for the job and at other times I prefer the 1084.
So you gotta have them both
